On a cold and snowy February winter’s night in New York City, Greg and Alex decided (separately) to head to the Lower East Side / Dimes Square in New York City to hear their friend Braxton DJ at a natural wine bar called Cellar 36. They made an instant connection over winemaking, the San Francisco 49ers, and a mutually convenient geographical proximity. Apparently it was just enough of a connection for Greg to secure the digits. It was a beautiful, classic, candle-lit New York night capped with fresh snowfall and the excitement of new romance, the old-fashioned way.

The first dates were some very cold nights out for drinks, pool, and jazz, followed by a proper dinner date at Raoul’s where the wait to be seated turned out to be the best part of the evening. The scallops were a close second! Alex decided to introduce (hard launch!) Greg at her birthday extravaganza at Sing Sing for karaoke in May of 2024 where Greg took over MC duties and secured the approval of Alex’s many friends.

Summers in LBI and travels across Japan and the Philippines (and Germany, Mexico, Austria, Italy) made them both realize this was something special that could last forever. Like pickleball or Monopoly deal, this relationship can go round after round as long as both sides stay out of the kitchen and don’t have more than seven cards in hand.
